Michigan beach town competes against Hawaii and California for best bed and breakfast
SAUGATUCK, MI -- A Michigan bed and breakfast continues to gain national recognition as it lands among the 20 best in the country, according to USA Today. The Wickwood Inn landed a nomination for Best Bed and Breakfast 2024 for the USA TODAY 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards. This puts little Saugatuck in direct competition with Napa, California and Holualoa, Hawaii among other top vacation spots.
Kalamazoo Planned Parenthood workers unionize, first to do so in West Michigan
KALAMAZOO, MI — With a recent vote, Planned Parenthood’s Kalamazoo Health Center has become the first Planned Parenthood site in West Michigan to unionize. The United Food and Commercial Workers Local 951 announced Wednesday, July 17, that Planned Parenthood workers from the Kalamazoo Health Center have voted in favor of UFCW 951 representation.

Social Security announces big online change affecting millions of recipients

Portage bicyclist dead after being struck by SUV

Portage schools asking voters to renew tax on August ballot
PORTAGE, MI -- Portage Public Schools is asking voters to renew a millage on the Aug. 6 election ballot to provide funds to address various student needs. The building and site sinking fund millage has been renewed every five years for the past 60 years. The current millage will expire with the 2024 levy.
