ALLEGAN COUNTY — The family devastated by a fatal crash in Allegan County has been identified; and one fatality will soon become two, according to a report from WZZM-13.

On June 30, Danny and Chelsea Savage, of Kalamazoo, and their three sons — Mason, 14, Parker, 11, and Levi, 9 — were involved in a crash in Fillmore Township. According to the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office, the family was headed westbound on 136th Avenue and didn’t stop for a stop sign at 58th Street.

Their vehicle was hit by a pickup truck in the intersection. Danny was pronounced dead at the scene. Chelsea and the three children were hospitalized with serious and life-threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup was not injured.

Over the holiday, the family decided to donate Mason's organs in light of a poor prognosis, according to WZZM.

According to a GoFundMe established for the family, Chelsea and Levi are awake and have been able to speak with family. Parker has a traumatic brain injury and an unclear prognosis, it states.

An update to the fundraiser posted Thursday, July 4, said the family will need long-term care.

As of Friday, the page had raised just over $26,000 of a $250,000 goal.

Tina Josten told WZZM-13 her nephew Danny was a jokester who loved to have fun. She said he was a true family man who always put his wife and children first.
