KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — The Kalamazoo Growlers are asking the community for help to clean up Homer Stryker Field after Tuesday’s storms flooded the ballpark.

The team has set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds in order to drain and clean Homer Stryker Field. They say there is knee-deep water in the field, concourse, bathrooms, merchandise shop and much of the facility.

“As something that usually happens in the offseason, this is the first time the Kalamazoo Growlers have asked for support in our efforts to drain and clean the ballpark,” the GoFundMe page read.

The flooding at Homer Stryker Field also caused the team to postpone games on Tuesday and Wednesday against the Kokomo Jackrabbits. Tuesday’s doubleheader will now be played in Kokomo on Wednesday and the game originally scheduled for Wednesday will now be played on Aug. 9.

The team plans to be back on the field in Kalamazoo on Saturday against the Battle Creek Battle Jacks.

Streets and intersections across the Kalamazoo area were also impacted by the storms , with flooding being the biggest issue .
