Walleye believe ECHL rule changes for 2024-25 will improve play
Toledo Walleye players and coaches are praising two new rule changes made by ECHL officials they believe will improve overall play next season. At its annual board of governors meeting this month, the ECHL approved the implementation of two new rules. League officials have increased the roster size from 17 skaters up to 18 for regular-season games. The league also increased the use of the two-referee system to 50 percent of all regular-season games for next season.
Inmate dies after being found unresponsive at Lucas County jail
An inmate died after being found unresponsive in his cell at the Lucas County jail, the county sheriff’s office said in a statement. David Webb, 52, was found Sunday afternoon by jail staff, who rendered aid before he was taken about 5:45 p.m. to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Mr. Webb had been arrested and booked into the jail Saturday morning by Oregon police on strangulation and domestic violence charges. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation was investigating his death Monday.
