Tornado touches down in southwest Ohio, NWS confirms
MORROW, Ohio — A small tornado early Tuesday morning in southwest Ohio caused minor damage to homes and uprooted some trees, according to the National Weather Service. The EF-1 tornado set down in Warren County at about 1:40 a.m. and stayed on the ground for 10 minutes and more than eight miles, carrying into Clinton County. Its top estimated wind speed was 95 mph.

Storms possible Wednesday and Thursday
CINCINNATI (WXIX) - The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF1 tornado in Warren County near Morrow Tuesday morning around 1:40am. It was on the ground for 8.1 miles moving into Clinton County near Blanchester. They say the peak winds were 95mph. With that tornado, the National Weather Service has officially confirmed 65 tornadoes in the state of Ohio so far this year. That is the most ever on record going back to 1950. 1992 is second with 62 tornadoes and just last year in 2023 we had 60.

Many shoppers at Franklin Park Mall took advantage of the first day of Ohio’s sales tax holiday on Tuesday to see savings on their purchases. Since 2015, Ohio has set aside a few days in August for consumers to buy certain items with no sales tax to help families buy clothing, supplies, and other goods for the coming school year. This year, the sales tax holiday spans 10 days, from Tuesday until Aug. 8. More items that are unrelated to school supplies are now eligible. The sales tax holiday is for all tangible personal property valuing $500 or less, excluding watercraft or outboard motors, vehicles, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, vapor products, or item that contain marijuana.
