First vendor announced for new food hall coming downtown
DAYTON, Ohio (Dayton Business Journal) -- The Silos, an incoming downtown food hall with plans to open later this summer, has announced its first of four vendors. Nood Bar, run by Chef Dane Shipp, will be the first concept to join The Silos food hall and beer garden, according to a post from the company's Instagram.

Walleye believe ECHL rule changes for 2024-25 will improve play
Toledo Walleye players and coaches are praising two new rule changes made by ECHL officials they believe will improve overall play next season. At its annual board of governors meeting this month, the ECHL approved the implementation of two new rules. League officials have increased the roster size from 17 skaters up to 18 for regular-season games. The league also increased the use of the two-referee system to 50 percent of all regular-season games for next season.
Arkansas ribs eatery wins Rib Off for fourth straight year
Both the judges and the general public voted for repeat favorites in this year’s 40th edition of The Blade’s Northwest Ohio Rib Off. Porky Chicks BBQ, based in Fayetteville, Ark., won the judges’ choice top prize for the fourth year in a row and fifth time overall, with the non-consecutive victory having been in 2015. And O’Henrys Kitchen on Wheels, a Toledo-based food truck run by Keith Henry, took home the people’s choice award for the second straight year. Inmate dies after being found unresponsive at Lucas County jail
An inmate died after being found unresponsive in his cell at the Lucas County jail, the county sheriff’s office said in a statement. David Webb, 52, was found Sunday afternoon by jail staff, who rendered aid before he was taken about 5:45 p.m. to Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Mr. Webb had been arrested and booked into the jail Saturday morning by Oregon police on strangulation and domestic violence charges. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation was investigating his death Monday.
