American Township home damaged in fire Saturday night
AMERICAN TOWNSHIP, OH (WLIO) - Multiple departments battled a second alarm fire on Saturday night. Just after 8:30 p.m., the American Township Fire Department was called out to Chestnut Oak Trail for a house fire. The fire damage was mostly contained to the rear of the home, but the entire building suffered heat and smoke damage. The Lima, Shawnee Township, and Delphos Fire Departments provided mutual aid. No residents were home at the time, and the cause is still under investigation.

WAPAKONETA, OH (WLIO) - The Auglaize County Fair officially opened Saturday afternoon. This year's fair is shaping up to be another good one. The Junior Fair competitors have been hard at work on their projects, and there's plenty of entertainment for the whole family. Just a few of the events fairgoers can look forward to are the final round of the Country Star Playoffs singing competition on Wednesday, a rodeo on Friday, and a new daily show featuring monkeys riding dogs. Since the last fair, the board has been working with community sponsors to improve existing facilities and add a new one.
