LCU topples UTBP to triumph in Lone Star Conference Tournament

LUBBOCK, Texas — Over the weekend, Lubbock Christian University came out on top against the Texas Permian Basin, 10-8 to secure the Lone Star Conference Tournament win and qualify for the NCAA Regional Tournament.

Chaps pitcher Coleson Abel was the winner at the mound. In 4 innings, he only gave up two runs, one earned on two hits, allowing five walks and striking out one.

Carson Ogilvie was pivotal in the Chap’s victory as well. Going five-for-five with two RBI. Ryan Ball went three-for-six with a double and four RBIs.

The Chaps have the No. 1 seed in the South Central Regional Division and their first game of the NCAA Regional Tournament will be Thursday at 7 p.m.
