    New Home brings in new head coach for girl’s basketball team

    NEW HOME, Texas — The New Home Leopards are welcoming Austin Spain as the new head coach of the girls’ basketball team.

    Before accepting the position at New Home, Spain was a former head coach in Dumas until the 2020 season, where he led the team to a district championship with multiple playoff appearances before that.

    Spain also had two state tournament appearances in basketball as an assistant coach at Lubbock Cooper in 2021 and 2023, as well as coaching multiple athletes at state competitions in basketball, track and wrestling.
