    Where to swim in Lubbock this summer

    LUBBOCK, Texas — The weather is warming up in the South Plains which means school is wrapping up. Outdoor activities to stay cool may seem limited with several pools closing for the summer, but there are more options than you think.

    Everythin gLubbock.com created a list of places to swim so parents can stay cool and keep their kids busy this summer.

    Talkington YWCA at Sun ‘n Fun – The pool is open to the public on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Members can get in on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A membership for a family of five is $150 a month for the season and can be bought here .

    Best day trip destinations in West Texas, the Panhandle

    Texas Tech Rec Pool – The Texas Tech leisure pool is open until 6:30 p.m. every day. Tech alumni, government employees, school district employees, UMC employees and military qualify for an off-campus affiliate membership. Guest passes are also available.

    Seahorse of Lubbock – The pool offers private and group swim lessons as well as individual and family memberships. No daily passes are available. Memberships can be found here .

    Premier Sportsplex – With a membership, access to the outdoor pool can be purchased separately. Prices vary by membership and family size. Memberships can be purchased online or in person.

    Grammy-Award winning Christian singer set to tour in Lubbock

    TruFit Athletic Clubs – The location on 82nd Street has an outdoor pool that can be accessed with a membership. Memberships cost up to $35 and can be purchased here .

    Water Rampage – The Lubbock waterpark offers several water attractions, including a wave pool. Season tickets are no longer available, but the website said general admission is $33.26 per person. The park’s social media said opening day is May 25 and tickets are $36 per person. The park offers an afternoon special of $22.17 per person Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
