Celebration of Life planned for Lubbock icon, set for Wednesday

LUBBOCK, Texas– Lubbock music icon Don Caldwell will be honored with a celebration of life service on Wednesday at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center Theater.

According to a press release for Caldwell Entertainment, the celebration will begin at 3:00 p.m., and interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton.

The release also said, “The Caldwell family would like to thank the City of Lubbock, the West Texas community and friends throughout the country for the outpouring of love and support.”

Caldwell was born and raised in West Texas and established Don Caldwell Recording Studios in 1971. EverythingLubbock.com reported that a benefit concert was held on May 18 to help with Clawell’s medical expenses.
