Covenant Health to hold free colon cancer screening

LUBBOCK, Texas — Covenant Health will hold a free colon cancer screening on Saturday, August 24th at the Covenant Endoscopy Center located at 3610 21st Street.

According to a social media post from Covenant Health, those interested in the free screening “must complete qualification pre-screening by Friday, August 2 to participate.”

Here is a list of the qualifications for the free colon cancer screening.

• Must be at least 45-years-old or have an immediate family member diagnosed with colon cancer (or patient should be 10 years younger than family member’s age at diagnosis)
  • EX) If a family member was 40 at diagnosis, patient may qualify at age 30
• No screening for colon cancer within the past 3 years (2021 or later)
• No current health insurance (commercial or government)
• Meet financial qualifications that include family/household size and annual income at or below the 2024 federal poverty level.
