Power outages affecting over 1,000 Lubbock customers Friday

LUBBOCK, Texas — Over 1,000 customers Friday morning have reported power outages across Lubbock.

According to the Lubbock Power & Light Outage map, about 1,848 customers were affected as of 10:05 a.m. The outage map showed the majority of customers in south Lubbock were affected.

Lubbock Power & Light said the outage first began Friday morning at 7:45 a.m., impacting 1,600 customers.

Crews were dispatched to fix the equipment to restore power to affected customers. LP&L said 850 customers were restored within the hour, the remaining 750 customers were restored at 10 a.m.

LP&L said it does not anticipate any further service issues following Friday’s outage.
