Update: Teen killed, 5 hurt in Lubbock Co. shooting

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office on Monday provided an update after a shooting left one person dead and five others injured early Sunday morning. LCSO said Dalequavion Barnard York, 17, was killed.

LCSO previously said the shooting happened just before 3:00 a.m. in the 9200 block of Highway 87.

“During the initial investigation, it was determined that multiple individuals were present at the location when gunfire erupted following a confrontation among individuals,” LCSO said.

The five people who were hurt had non-life-threatening injuries, LCSO said. Two people were arrested for unrelated charges, authorities said.
