Deaf Smith County Sheriff’s Office looking for suspect in alleged shooting

DEAF SMITH COUNTY, Texas (KAMRKCIT) — The Deaf Smith County Sheriff’s office reports that it is looking for an armed suspect involved in an alleged shooting.

According to the sheriff’s office, on Monday afternoon, a confrontation between two people resulted in one of them going to their vehicle to retrieve a gun and shoot the other person.

The sheriff’s office said the person who was shot died at the scene.

The alleged suspect, identified as Jesus Barrera Gonzales, was said to have left the scene in a tan Ford Ranger.

The Deaf Smith County Sheriff’s Office said Gonzalez may be armed. Anyone who has information or sees Gonzalez is asked to call law enforcement.
