Lubbock Police launches new public reporting system, transition may present challenges

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock Police Department will launch its new Computer-Aided Dispatch and Records Management System (CAD/RMS) through Central Square Technologies on Tuesday, September 24.

The current online reporting system at LubbockPolice.com will not be available to the public starting Thursday, September 19 at 3:30 p.m. The public’s ability to view reports online and the department’s crime map will also be unavailable as the City of Lubbock works to create a new portal.

In the meantime, the public is encouraged to call the Lubbock Police Department’s non-emergency number at 806-775-2817 to file a report over the phone or 806-775-2865 to request to meet with an officer in person. Reports can also be filed at the front desk of police department headquarters at 1205 15th Street or at a local division station.

Lubbock City Council approved the CAD/RMS system in March of 2023. The system is expected to make the report-writing process for officers more efficient and advance integration regarding body-worn camera technology.
