    Lubbock Police identify the teen who died in fatal Downtown car crash

    LUBBOCK, Texas – The Lubbock Police Department has confirmed that 19-year-old Carlos Sanchez-Luna was pronounced deceased after a Sunday morning collision in Downtown Lubbock.

    According to LPD, a SUV, driven by 19-year-old Carlos Sanchez-Luna, was traveling north in the 1700 block of Avenue K. While a passenger car was traveling west and collided with the SUV at the intersection of 16th Street and Avenue K.

    The SUV spun and struck a tree.

    LPD said Sanchez-Luna pronounced dead at the scene and Four passengers in the SUV were injured.

    19-year-old Dylan Burton and 20-year-old Gabrielle Perez suffered serious injuries.

    19-year-old Wyatt Stewart and 19-year-old Alexandra Sigel suffered minor injuries.

    All four passengers were transported by EMS to Covenant Medical Center.

    The driver of the passenger car was not injured.

    This investigation is still ongoing.
