LUBBOCK, Texas — Lubbock Fire Rescue said crews responded to the 6000 block of 77th Street on Monday morning after a concrete truck struck a gas meter, leading to a fire.

Crews were called around 8:25 a.m.

LFR said crews arrived and found the gas meter, concrete truck, electrical box and shed on fire.

“Thanks to the quick actions of the first arriving units, there was zero fire spread to any nearby homes,” LFR stated. “ATMOS & LP&L were able to isolate the power and gas under the truck.”

The driver of the concrete truck was able to get out safely, officials said.
