Idalou Harvest to host fall festival with contests

IDALOU, Texas — Autumn is a fun time for many with fall activities galore. Idalou Harvest Co. is hosting a fall festival Oct. 24-26, according to a flyer.

There will be a pumpkin decorating contest as well as a costume contest.

To participate in the pumpkin decorating contest, stop by Idalou Harvest Co. between Oct. 14-24 to pick out and purchase a pumpkin, fill out an entry form and get your contestant number. All pumpkins and forms must be submitted by 12 p.m. on Oct. 24, the flyer said. Entries will be on display and judged on by customers in two categories: Most Original Design and Most Creative (prizes will be awarded to 1st through 3rd places in each category).

Continuing with the festivities, on Saturday, Oct. 26, a costume contest will be held at Idalou Harvest. Sign-up will be from 10 a.m. – 2p.m. and the contest from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m, the flyer said. There will be five age divisions: three years and under, four to six years, seven to nine years, 10 to 12 years and teens (prizes will be awarded to 1st through 3rd places in each division).

Idalou Harvest is located at 12206 E Hwy 62/82. It is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
