Monomyth Coffee named best independent coffee shop in the country by USA Today

LUBBOCK, Texas — An independent Lubbock coffee shop, Monomyth Coffee at 2024 Broadway, is getting recognized for its excellent cup of joe and friendly atmosphere.

Randall Jackson, co-owner of Monomyth Coffee with his brother since June of 2019, told EverythingLubbock.com the team was grateful for the recognition.

Jackson explained the USA Today article was voter based, the people in the Lubbock community having been the biggest help to Monomyth in earning a spot as one of the 10 best independent coffee shops in the United States.

“Lubbock has been kind to us throughout the last five years,” Jackson said. “I don’t think we would have made it through 2020 without people being kind to us.”

Visit Lubbock has also been gracious to Monomyth Coffee, bringing travel writers through the café and helping put the business on the map, Jackson explained. The coffee shop was nominated top 20 in the country out of all shops USA Today visited throughout the year.

“We just want to say thank you to the people who have supported us over the last five years and a big thanks to our team as well and the people that have really made Monomyth what it is,” Jackson expressed.

Jackson said Monomyth plans to continue to “create good spaces for people and send them out encouraged. We love Lubbock.”
