Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center set to host ‘Rx Camp’ on June 24-26

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center invites ninth through twelfth grade students to “Rx Camp,” for an opportunity to learn about the pharmacy profession.

The camp is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 24 through 26 at the TTUHSC Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy Amarillo Campus.

According to TTUHSC, this summer camp aims to teach students the science behind medications and key roles that pharmacists play in healthcare.

Officials will utilize laboratory activities, including career exploration sessions, projects, simulations and pharmacy/museum tours led by TTUHSC School of Pharmacy professors and pharmacy students. Campers will receive a t-shirt, meals and snacks.

The deadline for campers to apply is Tuesday, May 28.

Campers must fill out an application completely and pay a $75 application fee to join the camp. Officials said checks can be mailed to the TTUHSC School of Pharmacy.
