Pignetti’s owner shares plan moving forward after storm damages restaurant

Temple, TX (FOX 44) — The severe storms hit hard on many businesses in Downtown Temple.

Business owners are in the clean up process now having to determine how they’re going to move forward.

Pignetti’s in Temple is having to start from scratch for half of their building.

FOX44 received video of the damage at Pignetti’s showing broken glass, flooded floors, and scattered debris.

Pignetti’s owner, Clinton Harwell says the storm can through Wednesday evening for the roof to collapse.

Harwell says four feet of water got inside of the building and adds how his workers are now having to evaluate what can be salvaged.

Harwell says this restaurant has been here for 22 years and is worried for his team.

“My employee’s they’ve worked for me for 10, 12, 15 years, and my next concern is how do I keep them working with a job because they have family, they have their bills, they have their places,” said Harwell.

Harwell is still calculating a value for how much was damaged.

He’s unsure when repairs will be done for the restaurant to reopen.

For now, Harwell is encouraging everyone to visit his other restaurants in Waco and Salado and plans to move his employees to those locations.
