    Hay fire north of Dalhart impacts traffic on US 87, officials warn ‘could last for several days’

    DALHART, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The Texas Department of Transportation advised on Monday morning that a hay fire north of Dalhart caused smoke to cross the roadway that could potentially last for several days.

    According to officials with TxDOT at around 6:20 a.m. on Monday, the hay fire began on the east side of US 87 about 14 miles north of Dalhart, causing smoke to cross the roadway and impact road conditions for traffic.

    Those driving in the area of US 87 north of Dalhart were warned that the hay fire and its related impact on road conditions could last for several days and were advised by officials to use extra caution.
