Evening storms and scorching heat

Hi everyone!

As of this writing, this evening and tomorrow offers the best last opportunity to see some rain over the next several days. Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms will be roaming the area, including Amarillo. If we do have a storm close by, stay weather aware; watch out for sudden downburst winds, lightning, brief heavy downpours, and possibly some pockets of small hail.

Regarding temperatures, today should see highs in the mid to upper 90’s, while tomorrow afternoon may feel the century mark or slightly hotter. Saturday through next Tuesday will endure scorching hot weather with daily temps ranging from 98 to 110!

Remember to drink plenty of water to stay over hydrated, put on the sunscreen, and try to avoid being outside during the peak heating hours of the day.
