    Clovis Police Department assists agencies in tracking down wanted subject

    CLOVIS, N.M. (KAMR/KCIT) — Members of the Region V Drug Task Force were contacted, according to the Clovis Police Department, and requested assistance in locating a wanted subject out of Albuquerque for a Robbery, stemming from a home invasion on Monday.

    According to officials from the Clovis Police Department, it was reported that the subject, Tevin Lee King, was possibly an occupant in a black Chevrolet sedan that was headed to Clovis from the Hobbs area. Officials noted that agents from the Clovis Police Department, assigned to the Region V Drug Task Force left to drive in the direction of Hobbs to help try and locate the car.

    Officials stated that at about 12:15 p.m. a black Chevrolet Impala was seen in the parking lot of a Stripes Convenience Store located in Portales and agents from the United States Marshall Service attempted to contact King at the Stripes and the vehicle fled from the U.S. Marshall Service. The vehicle was lost in Roosevelt County, south of Portales shortly after the pursuit began.

    Officials stated that a BOLO or “Be On The Lookout,” was issued in Clovis for the vehicle. The car was then located entering the Clovis City limits at around 12:45 p.m.

    Clovis Police Department officials stated that officers attempted to stop the car which fled from officers throughout Clovis city limits and the vehicle was then involved in a crash on Columbia Lane bringing the vehicle pursuit to an end. There were no injuries during the vehicle pursuit and crash.

    King was taken into custody for an outstanding federal warrant for alleged armed robbery and additional charges for alleged aggravated fleeing, possession with intent to traffic fentanyl, and tampering with evidence are still pending at this time.
