HEREFORD, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — According to unsealed court documents from the United States District Court for the District of Colombia, two men from Hereford were charged for their involvement in the January 6, 2021 insurrection at the capitol.

Donald Workman and John Clark IV, both from Hereford, are facing six charges each in relation to the riot on January 6, 2021.

As was previously reported on MyHighPlains.com, a large contingent of people went to Washington D.C. to protest the results of the 2020 Presidential Election. Following a rally featuring a speech from former President Donald Trump, people took to the streets and unlawfully entered the US Capitol while members of congress were scheduled to certify the vote count of the Electoral College of the 2020 Presidential Election

The charges include:” Assaulting, Resisting, or Impeding Certain Officers,” “Civil Disorder,” “Entering and Remaining in a Restricted Building or Grounds,” “Disorderly Conduct in a Capitol Building,” “Act of Physical Violence in the Capitol Grounds or Building.”

According to the criminal complaint, over the investigation, footage from various sources including footage from the Washington Monument, and police body cam footage showed Workman and Clark IV at the capitol during the riot.

Investigators also reviewed Workman’s YouTube channel to identify him from footage at the Capitol. In the livestream session on YouTube, court documents say Workman admitted to being at the Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Court documents show that Clark and Workman were moving together on Capitol grounds on January 6. Clark was identified by a confidential source.

In June of 2024, the US Supreme Court sent down a decision that may affect how Clark and Workman are impacted by their charges.
