‘Miss Sparkle’ Pageant paves way for special needs kids to shine in the spotlight

HOUSTON (CW39) – For Dallyn Pesek, the current title holder of Miss Texas Teen USA it started as a dream, a spark. To help people. So she began by starting a special needs cheerleading group. But, when families told her how much this helped their children, she said more could be done.

For several years, the “Miss Sparkle” Special Needs Pageant has been at the cornerstone of celebrating the glamour and fun of pageantry, with a community that is often overlooked. But, not here. This pageant opens its doors to everyone, reminding us all how special each person really is.

The Sparkle Club is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization started by sisters, Dallyn & Delynn Pesek. They are supported and helped by their brother Devin and sister-in-law Abby. It includes the Miss Sparkle Special Needs Pageant and the South Texas Sparkles Special Needs Cheer Team. Dallyn & Delynn have been coaching the South Texas Sparkles cheer team for 9 years and their dream of creating a special needs pageant for the Dewitt-Lavaca area came true 6 years ago. They enjoy providing all special needs individuals the same opportunities they were blessed to participate in within the community. Dallyn & Delynn co-coordinate the pageant and provide all contestants a fun-filled day of glamour and an opportunity for these girls to sparkle as they show their inner and outer beauty throughout the pageant.
