Clovis Police looking for driver after stolen car was found wrecked into home

CLOVIS, N.M. (KAMR/KCIT) — The Clovis Police Department asked the public for help locating a person who allegedly stole a Ford Explorer and crashed it into a home.

According to CPD, at around 3:07 a.m. on Sept. 5, CPD received a call regarding to a vehicle hitting a home in the 900 block of Comer Drive.

Officials said the caller detailed that, ” A vehicle had crashed into their home.”

CPD said after arriving on scene officers learned a cream-colored Ford Explorer had hit a vehicle that was in the residences driveway before crashing into the home.

The release added that at the time of the incident two people were inside the home but were not injured. CPD said the driver of the Ford Explorer left after wrecking the car into the home, before officers arrived.

According to CPD officers learned during the crash investigation, that the wrecked Ford Explorer was reported stolen to the Portales Police Department.

The Clovis Police Department is asking anyone with information to call the non-emergency line at 575-769-1921. Information can also be provided anonymously by using the Clovis Police Department’s tip411 program on the Clovis Police Department website.
