Increasing chances for storms

Hello everyone!

This afternoon will be mostly sunny, windy, and unseasonably warm. Temperatures will soar into the 80’s and low 90’s with Amarillo topping out near 93. At the same time a 40% to 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms will be possible during the evening hours.

As of this writing, severe weather is not expected, per se, but be aware of lightning, sudden downburst winds, pockets of small hail, and brief heavy downpours.

Tomorrow looks to be sunny and breezy with highs near 93, while a 30% of showers and thunderstorms will be possible during the evening hours. Thursday and Friday will follow suit with highs in the low to mid 90’s, along with a 20% to 40% chance of rain at night. The mid to upper 80’s look promising for Saturday and Sunday, while the scattered showers and thunderstorms could continue over the weekend.
