Oklahoma Turnpike Authority set to host special meeting Monday

OKLAHOMA CITY (KAMR/KCIT) — Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) announced that it will host a special board meeting at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23. Officials said their regular monthly meeting that was scheduled on Sept. 10 was canceled due to a lack of quorum.

The event will take place in the Oklahoma Department of Transportation’s Commission Room, located at 200 NE 21st Street, Oklahoma City.

The meeting is open to the public and will also be livestreamed. Officials added that the meeting will be recorded and added to their website.

Some of the items to be addressed at the special meeting include:

• The board will consider awarding a $38.5 million pavement widening and service plaza construction contract along the I-44/Turner Turnpike at Stroud. This project will add 1.5 miles of additional lanes as part of the widening of the Turner Turnpike to six lanes and realign the westbound turnpike lanes for the construction of the new Stroud service plaza.
• The board will also consider a $982,250 contract modification to re-engage design work on ACCESS Oklahoma widening and interchange projects.
• The final change order to complete the Gilcrease Expressway in Tulsa also will be considered by the Board.
