United Way of Amarillo & Canyon, Atmos Energy hold ‘Utility Blitz’ event for bill assistance

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The United Way of Amarillo & Canyon and the 2-1-1 United Way Helpline announced it will hold a “Utility Blitz” on Oct. 8 with the aim of helping community members facing past-due or disconnected Atmos Energy accounts.

According to UW representatives, the organization and 2-1-1 officials will partner with Atmos Energy and other local organizations to meet with community members seeking assistance with utility bills on Oct. 8. The event is set to be held at the following locations and times:

• 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
• Heal the City
• 609 S Caroline St.

• 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

• Acts Community Center
• 816 S Van Buren St.

Officials advised those seeking assistance to bring a copy of their most recent Atmos Energy bill and a copy of their ID. Attendees will also need to be prepared to fill out an application regarding general demographic questions.
