SWISHER COUNTY, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — On Thursday, the Tulia Police Department along with Tulia Animal Control and Gracie’s Project removed 15 dogs from a residence in Tulia. Officials said a total of 20 dogs have been removed from the same residence in the past week.

According to a TPD Facebook post, the owner of the residence has been placed under arrest and charged with “Animal Cruelty,” for failure to provide food and shelter.

Officials detailed that this is one of several suspected houses that are operating puppy mills in Tulia. TPD said it will continue to find those who fail to provide for their animals.

The release added that only three animals are allowed at a single property inside city limits, according to city ordinance.
