Tracking severe weather along the NM/TX Stateline

Good evening, everyone!

Temps were near seasonal this Sunday afternoon. We are still tracking severe weather in eastern New Mexico. Strong to severe thunderstorms will move into our viewing area in the late evening. The Storm Prediction Center has a Marginal (level 1 out of 5) and Slight risk (level 2 out of 5) in eastern New Mexico and the far western combined Panhandles. Main threats include large hail, damaging wind gusts, and flooding. There is another Flood Watch in eastern New Mexico until 3 a.m. MDT. The tornado threat is low at 2-5% in eastern New Mexico and the northwest combined Panhandles. Thunderstorms and showers will move into the NW Panhandles during the overnight hours.

On Monday morning, portions of the northern Panhandles and SW Kansas will wake up to showers and thunderstorms. Temps in the morning will be cool in the upper 40s and 50s. Afternoon temps will moderate into the 70s and 80s. Mostly clear conditions will be present on Monday afternoon. Above seasonal temperatures and dry weather will persist throughout the week.
