One dead, one in custody after shooting in Iron County

KANARRAVILLE, Utah ( ABC4 ) — One man is dead and another is in custody after a shooting in Kanarraville on Wednesday night.

The Iron County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the scene in Kanarraville just after 7:50 p.m. on Wednesday. Officials said two adult males were involved in the incident.

“Tragically, one male has been shot and was confirmed deceased,” the sheriff’s office said in a press release. “The other involved male has been taken into custody for questioning.”

The Iron County Sheriff’s Office said the shooting is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.

The sheriff’s office did not provide more information about the age of the involved parties or what may have led to the shooting. Officials said they would release more information the next day.
