Final Day of the 2024 Wright County Fair
The 2024 Wright County Fair concludes today, but not before a number of activities and fun on the grounds. Sunday events include a final armband day and bike giveaway on the midway, Memories of Elvis at 4:30 in the entertainment tent, the second demolition derby of the weekend at 5:30 in the grandstand, plus a final look at all the exhibits and tasting of all the fair foods. The Sunday cash drawings are scheduled for 8 PM.
St. Cloud Softball Team Advances to State Championship
St. Cloud Post 76 advanced to the 3rd annual MN Legion Softball State Championship game Sunday vs La Crescent with a 3-1 win over Upsala in the semifinals. Ella Voit threw 7 innings, gave up 2 hits, 1 run, 0 walks and had 16 strikeouts. Tayla Vought went 2-4 with 2 doubles.

HOSTED BY: ORTHOPEDIC SPORTS FIELD (OSF) SARTELL/SARTELL HIGH SCHOOL (SHS) The Sartell Post 277 defeated their rivals the Sauk Rapids Post 254, to punch their ticket to the state tournament. They out hit them twelve to four, including nine players that collected hits and eight that were credited for a RBI. Their starting pitcher was Will Thompson, he threw a complete game to earn the win. He gave up four singles, no runs, one walk and he recorded one strikeout.

Two unrelated shootings in Minneapolis within 10 minutes; two suffer life-threatening injures
MINNNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis police are investigating two different shootings that happened around 7 o'clock Saturday evening. The first shooting happened near the 2600 block of 3rd Avenue South. Officers were called to the scene on report of a shooting and found a man with life-threatening injuries. They provided CPR until EMS could arrive. The man was taken to Hennepin Healthcare. The second shooting happened around 10 minutes later near the 2500 block of Cedar Avenue South. A man was found near the 2600 block of Cedar Avenue South with life-threatening gunshot wounds. Officers provided medical aid before the victim was taken to Hennepin Healthcare. Police say the man was walking on 2500 block of Cedar after meeting a group when he was shot. He then ran a block before he collapsed. Police are investigating both shootings. An arrest has not been made in either shooting. Police say the two shootings do not appear to be related.
