    $50,000 Powerball prize won at liquor store in Kansas City

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — As multi-state jackpots continue to grow closer to a billion dollars, a Quick Pick Powerball ticket was sold at a Kansas City liquor store.

    A person in Clay County who bought a Missouri Lottery ticket won a $50,000 prize.

    The winner bought the ticket at Discount Smokes and Liquor on northeast Highway 69 in Kansas City on March 11.

    The winning numbers were 1, 3, 7, 16 and 66 with a Powerball number of 5.

    The next Powerball drawing is on Saturday and is estimated at $750 million, making it the ninth-largest jackpot in the game’s history.

    Friday’s Mega Millions drawing has an estimated jackpot of $977 million.

    In 2023, players in Clay County won more than $27.9 million in Missouri Lottery prizes. More than $12.6 million in lottery winnings was donated to education programs in the county, while retailers took home more than $3 million in commissions and bonuses.
