Fan appreciation for Travis Kelce continued to grow as the NFL star attended the 2024 American Century Celebrity Golf Championship Tournament at Lake Tahoe, Nev.

After winning an award for his performance in a karaoke competition, which he quickly dedicated to his pop star girlfriend, Taylor Swift , the Kansas City Chiefs tight end hit the links on Friday, July 12, as one of several celebrities participating in this year’s tournament. While Travis has played in the annual competition before, this year marked the first time that his older brother, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce , competed.

Unfortunately for Travis, one of the golf balls he struck early in the day wound up striking a man who was observing the tournament from the sidelines. Travis made his way over to the man after the incident to check on him, as seen in video clips that attendees and Travis fan accounts later shared on X , formerly Twitter.

Holding his golf club in one hand, Travis reached over to shake hands with the onlooker, who did not appear badly injured. Travis then pivoted quickly, giving the man’s arm a quick kiss as if to make it all better.

The move triggered a wave of emotion from fans online, with some lauging over the display while others gushed over Travis’ intention.

“Aww he kissed the boo boo,” one fan wrote, adding, “You can tell Jason and Travis were raised with love.”

“He is Uncle Travy, so he’s done it before,” another fan pointed out, referring to the NFL player’s three young nieces.

“I’d never wash the shirt or my arm again,” one X user gushed.

“Oh, Travis has such a gentleman's kiss,” another X user said.

After the incident, the official X account for New Heights , the podcast the Kelce brothers host together, reminded fans that Travis recently addressed the idea of accidentally hitting someone with a golf ball at the American Century Championship.

During an episode of New Heights released on Wednesday, July 3, Jason asked his younger brother for advice on navigating the tournament before he arrived for his first experience.

“My advice would be, just don’t feel bad if you hit somebody, because they bought the ticket,” Travis told Jason. “It’s a bunch of amateurs out there trying to play golf, so don’t feel bad.” He later added that people in attendance “have gotten hit before” and that emergency medical personnel were always onsite just in case any injuries needed tending.

“Ok I guess he felt a little bit bad about it 😅,” the podcast’s X account tweeted as it shared a clip of Travis’ earlier comments.
