Spongebob Squarepants comes to Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Zoo and Aquarium announced its partnership with Nickelodeon to celebrate Spongebob Squarepants’s 25th anniversary starting Monday, July 15 — aka, “The Best Day Ever.”

In honor of the show’s debut on July 17, 1999, visitors will be treated to an immersive Spongebob experience with a scavenger hunt, screenings of various episodes, an exhibit and more.

The scavenger hunt, starting at Sobela Ocean Aquarium , will have clues centered around aquatic animal facts, so visitors will not only enjoy a fun activity but also learn more about the creatures of the deep blue.

In addition, every Saturday from July 20 to Sept. 14, the Zoo will show Spongbob episodes in the Beastro Lobby Auditorium at 9:30 a.m.

All 25th-anniversary activities are included in the Zoo admission, and to make matters even better, guests will also be given a special coloring sheet featuring the friendly sea sponge that they can take home!
