KANSAS CITY, Mo. — KC2026, the nonprofit that will lead the planning and activation of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Kansas City, announced its chief executive officer on Wednesday.

Pam Kramer will report to the KC2026 Board of Directors. She previously served as fractional chief operating officer.

Proven as a leader in the sports industry, Kramer spent 16 years at Sprint, where she was crucial to the creation and implementation of many of the company’s most innovative and successful sponsorships. She was a leader in the company during the 1994 FIFA World Cup, the last time the international competition was held in the United States.

Another one of her accomplishments is the placement of Sprint’s brand on the NFL coaches’ headsets.

Following her tenure at Sprint, Kramer joined the Kansas City Chiefs to lead business communications and advise on communications strategy.

Most recently, she provided strategic oversight and guidance to the Kansas City Sports Commission as Fractional Chief Operating Officer (COO) before transitioning to the KC2026 team.

“Hosting this event is bigger than anything that’s ever been done before and regional collaboration is the key to our shared success,” Kramer said in a statement.

“I’m looking forward to working with the many teams and stakeholders who will help make it happen.”
