My recent visit to Quita B's Soul Food was a delightful experience. The taste of the food was generally pleasing. I particularly enjoyed the pork belly, ribs, and burnt ends, which were all cooked to perfection. The brisket, however, was a bit average and slightly on the dry side. The onion rings, while flavorful, seemed to have a high MSG content.
The service at Quita B's was wonderful. The friendly lady at the front and the welcoming cooks made the atmosphere warm and inviting. The food arrived quickly, which was a pleasant surprise. The smothered pork chop with black eyed peas and greens, and the fried catfish with brown beans and cabbage, were standout dishes. The fish was fresh and the greens were amazing. The yams were reminiscent of a beloved family recipe.
However, not all dishes hit the mark. The 2pc fish with Mac n cheese and greens had some issues. The greens were gritty and the fish pieces were too large and had a strong fishy taste. The Mac was also a bit too salty. Despite these minor setbacks, Quita B's Soul Food is a place I'd recommend for its overall good food and excellent service. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
