WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Meteorologist Dean Jones says rain and scattered storms will continue across Kansas on Sunday as a cold front continues to push through the state. The risk of severe weather will be minimal throughout the day, however heavy downpours and lightning may be an issue with some of the stronger storms through the afternoon.

Kansas Weather: Severe Storms Expected Late Tonight, Cooler Start to the Week
Wichita, KS – Kansas residents can expect a mix of weather conditions over the next few days, starting with mild temperatures today and potential severe storms tonight. According to the National Weather Service in Wichita, today’s high temperatures will reach the upper 80s to around 90 degrees across much of the state. Locations such as Salina and Hutchinson will see highs of 91 degrees, while Wichita is forecasted to hit 90 degrees. Tonight, there is a possibility of severe thunderstorms, particularly in areas like Russell, which could experience scattered severe weather late in the day.
