I arrived a bit early just in case I encountered any trouble, since a few hours before the Faith and Freedom Coalition, the influential Christian political group that was hosting the breakfast, had denied my request for a press credential. While I didn’t have any trouble walking into the event, once I arrived, an organizer informed me that the hundreds of seats in the cavernous main breakfast room were already taken. She ushered me and a handful of others into an extremely air-conditioned overflow room, where, over chilly bacon and scrambled eggs, we watched a live stream of the proceedings on a big screen. My tablemate was an older gentleman who boasted that he had once hosted a Trump fundraiser at his “car club” and raised $2 million. We commiserated about being relegated to this outpost.

A police union lawsuit that suspended a policy that would’ve required releasing body camera footage within 15 days was withdrawn this week. A Milwaukee Police Association lawsuit that put the policy on hold for over a year was withdrawn on Tuesday, with the union citing concerns over a “fruitless” legal pursuit and Milwaukee Police Department Chief Jeffrey Norman's support of the policy.
Brookfield police chase of 2 stolen vehicles; 3 teens, 2 men arrested
MERTON, Wis. - Brookfield police were engaged in two police chases at the same during early Wednesday, July 17. Those chases ended with the arrests of five people. Officials say around 4 a.m. Wednesday, the Waukesha County Communications Center received a report of a stolen vehicle from the Village of Merton. Deputies investigating another vehicle entry on McKerrow Drive in the Village of Lisbon spotted the stolen vehicle, along with another, speeding southbound on Highway 164.
Milwaukee shootings Thursday; teen wounded, building shot up
MILWAUKEE - A 15-year-old was wounded by gunfire – and a building and car were shot up in separate shooting incidents on Thursday, July 18. According to the Milwaukee Police Department, at about 1:30 p.m. a 15-year-old was shot near 73rd and Ruby. The teen was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries.
