NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – North Little Rock Police Department officers are investigating after a man was killed following a Sunday afternoon crash.

NLRPD issued a statement Tuesday afternoon that 63-year-old James Burgess of Conway was killed after a crash in the area of the 1000 block of Crystal Hill Road. Officers were notified of the crash at 5:14 p.m., they said.

Officials said investigators determined a vehicle driven by 31-year-old Hayley Strozyk of North Little Rock failed to negotiate a turn and left the road, striking the parked vehicle where Burgess was sitting. Strozyk was taken to a local hospital for treatment, officials said.

According to the statement, investigators continue to review evidence and consult with the Pulaski County Prosecutor’s Office to determine what criminal charges will be pursued in this case.
