Stone County deputies investigating Saturday evening shooting that injured juvenile

STONE COUNTY, Ark. – Deputies with the Stone County Sheriff’s Office are investigating after a Saturday evening shooting left a juvenile injured.

According to a post on Facebook , deputies responded to reports that a person was shot in the Luber area near Mountain View at 5 p.m.

Deputies said that when they arrived, they learned that the teen had been hit in the back by a bullet from a 22-caliber rifle and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Medical care was rendered on the scene and the victim was flown to Little Rock for further treatment.

Detectives said that after speaking with witnesses to the incident and the person that shot the gun for statements and interviews, a suspect is in custody.

The alleged shooter is expected to face multiple charges, including endangering the welfare of a child and aggravated assault. Officials said the teen was fishing with another person when the shooting occurred.
