    Arkansas Black Hall of Fame inductees announced for 2024

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The special group of trailblazers being inducted into the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame are being celebrated for their extraordinary work from the classroom to the stages of Broadway.

    Arkansas Black Hall of Fame honors excellence, achievement at 2023 ceremony

    The 2024 Inductees were announced on Tuesday:

    • Steve H. Broadnax, III- Little Rock award-winning, Tony-nominated theatrical director and educator
    • Dr. Mamie Phipps Clark – Hot Springs – social psychologist, pioneering researcher and author
    • Phyllis Dickerson- Little Rock business and political strategist and crisis manager extraordinaire
    • Thomas East Little Rock musician, vocalist and entertainer
    • Cora Duffy McHenry- Augusta – educator, education Leader and advocate.
    • Mack Wilbourn- Magnolia – entrepreneur, philanthropist, community and business leader

    Hall of Fame officials said each inductee has made strides and persevered through career challenges ranging from the arts to education and politics to entrepreneurship.

    “It says to us there is something unique about Arkansas, that allows these individuals to overcome many challenges,” Arkansas Black Hall of Fame chairman Charles Stewart said “But to be able to manifest and to realize their life potential and their God-given talent and literally change the world.”

    This year’s class will be officially inducted into the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 26 at the Robinson Center.
