Civilians also got a chance to inspect Arkansas Army and Air National Guard equipment up close and see what members do on a daily basis, and what the guard has to offer as a possible career.

Minuteman Day also featured a Junior ROTC drill competition.

“This is what it looks like, this is the equipment that we use, this is what potentially your sons and daughters could be doing in the future,” Cpt Jamie Newton said.

Brigadier General Tony Shepherd said that the goal is for kids to see how the guard represents and serves the state.

“We want them to come and see what our young people are doing, we want them to come and see how we represent and serve our state,” Shepherd stated.
