    Searcy woman killed in early morning Lonoke County five-car pileup

    LONOKE COUNTY, Ark. – An early morning crash on Hwy 67 North in Lonoke County left 1 dead and seven injured Sunday.

    According to a preliminary Arkansas State Police report, northbound traffic was stopped shortly before 4 a.m. due to an unrelated accident.

    Troopers said that four vehicles were stopped near mile-marker 25 when a 2009 Honda Accord failed to stop and crashed into a 2006 Volkswagen GTI killing the passenger, 49-year-old Anadelly Villegas of Searcy.

    According to the ASP report, the crash caused a chain collision between the four stopped vehicles, leaving seven injured.

    Officials said that the injured were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

    According to a report from the Arkansas State Police, the previous collision that happened near mile marker 25 at 12:28 a.m. involved a 2024 Dodge Ram being struck by a semi while parked on the side of the road causing both vehicles to catch fire.

    The report said that 33-year-old Agueda Carrillo Mata of Batesville died as a result of this crash and three others were left injured.
