    Little Rock man facing felony manslaughter charge tied to July 4 shooting death of 3-year-old

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A Little Rock man is facing a manslaughter charge in connection with the shooting death of a child on the 4th of July.

    According to court records, James Wilson Jr. was arrested Tuesday and is now facing a charge of felony manslaughter tied to the shooting incident that led to the death of a 3-year-old girl.

    On July 4, Authorities said officers responded to a report of an accidental shooting involving two minors at 4:42 p.m. in the 12000 block of Saint Charles Boulevard in west Little Rock.

    Police said a 3-year-old girl was taken to Arkansas Children’s Hospital but later died from her injuries. A second child, the little girl’s 6-year-old brother, is suspected in the shooting.

    Wilson is believed to be the father of the children.

    In addition to the manslaughter charge, Wilson is facing four counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor.
