LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A Little Rock family says they feel like a piece of them is missing.

Melanie Churchill said it was a punch to the gut when she woke up one morning and realized that the custom necklace she inherited from her parents was gone from her neck.

“The fact that my dad gave it to my mother,” Churchill said. “They passed away this year, 92 days apart from each other.”

The necklace was made with her father’s original wedding band.

Churchill went to a list of places she visited the day she lost it but had no luck.

The locations were Target on Chenal and University, Restoration Health on Chenal, Dollar Tree and Professor Bowl on Towne Oaks Drive.

She checked security cameras and is even working with Pawn Shops.

Her daughter posted the necklace on Facebook, asking the people of Little Rock for help. And offering a $1,000 reward.

Melanie says with the necklace, she could reach up and touch her neck to feel like her parents were there.

Now, she’s reaching for the community’s support. And if the necklace is in someone else’s hands already, asking for it to be returned.

“Please find it in your heart to give it back to the family,” her daughter said. “We wish that we could reimburse you for everything that it’s worth, but we can’t put a price on how much it’s worth to our family.”
