    Sherwood police say road rage incident led to man being injured in shooting, suspect in custody

    SHERWOOD, Ark. – Police in Sherwood said a man was injured after investigators say a road rage incident led to a shooting over the weekend.

    According to the Sherwood Police Department, officers responded to a shooting in the area of Trammel and Landers Road around 4:50 p.m. Saturday. Police said the victim was found at the scene with a gunshot wound to the stomach area.

    Police said the victim was taken to a local hospital and is currently stable.

    Detectives said they identified a 52-year-old man as the suspect. Police officials have not released the suspect’s name at this time.

    The suspect was taken into custody, and investigators say it was determined that the shooting stemmed from a road rage incident.

    The suspect is facing a second-degree battery charge in connection to the shooting.
